Go Bulls!

First, I want to mark the San Fermin Fiesta that began with a mass yesterday and the first “running of the bulls” this morning at 8AM in Pamplona.  Let me just say, “Go Bulls!  None of you will live to see tomorrow; take as many of your tormentors with you as you can today.”

On a completely unrelated subject, when Theresa went in for her biopsy at Baylor on Thursday the surgeon MISSED THE THINGY – the mass or nodule or whatever the heck she has.  I’m a pretty understanding guy, pretty tolerant, nobody’s perfect, but a surgical biopsy is a pretty old school procedure.  Mine were done using ultrasound for imagery, and there’s fluoroscopy and so forth.  I’m thinking even if this guy was a first-day resident (it was July 1st after all) he’s still a bonehead.  Now I’m told they plan to do a PET scan before they (attempt to) do another biopsy procedure.  I’m not going over there for this; we’ve been divorced for more than 25 years, and the kids are at least as ill-tempered as their mother and I are.  I’m still keeping good thoughts for Theresa and for Roger and for Sarah, and for all who love them.

I should probably reflect on the inconsistency of compassion for those dealing with physical disease and a lack of compassion for those who feel an unhealthy need to torture livestock, but for now I’m good with it.

That is totally amazing on the biopsy failure. Our problems with medicine today isn’t just how we pay for it but finding good medical care with doctors who have been with us long enough to know us and then competent. Maybe should be the other way around. I also wish Theresa good luck with this. It is tough and something many of us will face or have. Doesn’t make it easier especially with goofs like that.
